‘5 scoreless innings + first win’ Sanchez “Thanks to the advice of veteran pitchers”

The Hanwha Eagles got a fortune. New foreign pitcher Ricardo Sanchez (26) pitched well in three consecutive games.

On the 23rd, Sanchez started the first leg of a three-week series against the KIA Tigers in the 2023 KBO League held at Daejeon Hanwha Life Insurance Eagles Park on the 23rd and pitched well, recording 3 hits and no runs in 5 innings. Cold water was poured on the KIA line, which was hot until last week. Hanwha won 9-5 and won their first win in their 3rd appearance in their KBO League debut.

Sanchez did not allow more than two on base in an inning. In the first inning, after being hit by Park Chan-ho after one run, he allowed himself to advance by making a check error, but struck out Kim Seon-bin and Choi Hyeong-woo, two veteran batters, and grounded to first base, respectively.

In the second inning, Lee Woo-sung got a heavy hit after two outs, but he struck out the follow-up hitter Han Seung-taek. In the 3rd inning, Park Chan-ho was allowed to go on base due to a third baseman throwing error after two outs, and Kim Seon-bin was put in a crisis at first and third base by allowing a right-handed hit, but Choi Hyung-woo was caught with a straight hit. First baseman Chae Eun-seong showed the lake rain.

The Hanwha batting line showed generous scoring support, such as scoring 6 points in just one inning. Sanchez cleanly blocked the 4th and 5th innings with a tripartite.

Sanchez, who is under control of the number of pitches for the reason of recovering his senses in the actual game, threw 93 pitches that day. When he went down the mound, the difference was 9 points (score 9-0). Hanwha kept the lead.

Sanchez is a replacement for Birch Smith, who was released due to an injury. On the 11th, against the Samsung Lions, he made his debut, recording 4 scoreless innings and receiving a passing score, and on the 17th against the Lotte Giants, he also threw well, recording 5 innings and 1 run. Hanwha coach Choi Won-ho, who we met ahead of the KIA game that day, said, “He is a left-handed pitcher with an average velocity of up to 149 km/h. He is also good at breaking pitches. He brought a good pitcher,” he praised. On this day, with the veil removed to some extent, he continued his good fight against KIA.

After the game,안전놀이터 Sanchez said, “I feel so good. I am grateful to my teammates for scoring a lot.” Regarding what was better than the previous two games, he said, “I asked a lot of questions to veteran pitchers. Sanchez, who shot up to 153 km/h that day, raised his voice again, saying, “I don’t care about speed. Team victory is the top priority.”
