At around 1:40 p.m. on this day, two fire explosions broke out at 30-minute intervals in the basement of the first floor of a bathhouse building in Maechukji Village, Jwacheon-dong, Dong-gu, Busan, resulting in many casualties, including firefighters who were extinguishing the fire. The fire department explained that when the initial fire was extinguished, a second explosion suddenly occurred, causing many injuries.

Initially, the number of injured was identified as 21, but two more were added late in the afternoon and one more on the morning of the 2nd, bringing the total to 24. The injured included 10 firefighters, 3 police officers, 4 district office officials, and 7 nearby residents. Among them, two firefighters were seriously injured and the remaining 22 were lightly injured.
